More Cakes!!

Well here are the cakes I made for Maddy. Her 8th birthday!

 

I can not get this photo to stay upright... Any ideas?

I found several photos of cakes that I forgot to post... So be patient as I try to catch up... Before I do the next ones in November.

This cake was a lot of fun to make. It was the first time I tried to color the batter. It worked!

Am I an artist yet?

I just realized I haven't painted since April. I did paint 2 pictures back then but haven't picked up a paint brush since. Here are the ones I did.

This one I did for my niece.

I know I need to crop these but it is the end of a long day. I will fix them later.

I know I am my worst critic (I have been told that is the norm) But I do have so much to learn. But I am having so much fun trying to paint. 

I am starting an art class later this month and it is completely different than this style of painting. First off I will learn to draw using the right side of my brain.

The instructor is Kathy Chester. Her web site is www.kathychesterstudios.com and it shows a lot of her work. 

I can't wait to get started. I will be sharing what I learn this semester.

Even my Knomes think it is too early!

I was wandering in my yard yesterday and saw my first Daffodil blossom. To me, they have always meant spring is here and the cold is almost over. NOT this year!! I can not believe how warm it has been. Leaves me a little concerned about what to expect next... 

May as well take a nap, God is in control..........

I painted this on an 8 x 10 black canvas. I don't think it is too shabby for my first one, on sooo many levels. I still need to work on Ann's eyes. But..............



Painting #4

I went to a painting class today and this is what I painted. I am so enjoying this new hobby.

This is the first painting I have done without an instructor!

This was harder than I thought it would be. An instructor can tell you how to fix things and make things look better. But I enjoyed painting this and I know I will improve as I get more comfortable. My nephew claimed this as soon as he saw it. That is quite the compliment.....

My 1st floral painting

What a great day. I took my first flower painting class. It is only my second painting class ever. I love doing this. I hope I just keep improving with each class.
