This is my first, but not my last, painting!!

I took my first class a couple weeks ago and I was shocked that my painting looks like something. I can't wait for the next classes in January! It is so much fun.

I think I may have gone a little overboard.

I have been making shower caps for Christmas. I kept seeing more and more fabric that I thought would make a pretty cap. Now I have 9 or 10 completely made, 11 to add elastic to and 5 to sew up.  I think I better finish what I started and stop.

This is how I am packaging the caps for Christmas Gifts. I place a small cardboard circle in the bottom of the cap, added some toiletries then tied it up with ribbon. I will wrap completely with Cellophane and tie it up with a bow.

I do hope my family likes them.

Silky Shower Caps

I was looking for a cute way to give gift certificates to all the females in my gift giving circle, and this is what I came up with:
I plan to make small gift baskets with toiletries and hats, then add the gift card to the tag.
I got a little carried away and will try to sell some of them.
(Please excuse the mess of my sewing room. This time of year the elves are busy!)

Maddy's 7th Birthday

It has been a while since I have made any birthday cakes. My great-niece had her party on Saturday and I volunteered to make the cake for it. I have to say it wasn't too fancy, I used Wiltons wafers to make the decorations. But Maddy seemed to happy with it, she is the little girl in the purple dress. I really like the push-ups the kids loved them. They made clean up pretty easy. The photos show the cake after the pushups and before.

Mr. Ground Cover

I bought some ground cover to plant on a ditch that runs across the front of my yard. But it has been so hot, I just couldn't dig up the area and plant it. But I had to do something with it. I was determined to keep it alive.
So this is what I did.
As you can tell, dirt is not in abundance in my yard.
The county I live in is known for the rocky terrain.

Just Look At His Smile!!!

Colton wanted a train cake for his party and I was thrilled. He originally wanted Spiderman so the idea of making a train was great. I thought it would be soooo easy. I didn't start it until about 6pm the night before I had to deliver it at noon. WELL! I was so very wrong. I learned a great deal while making this cake. Like, never get too confident, never use chocolate cake, it is impossible to keep the crumbs covered up and so much more. Everything I planned in my head went wrong. ..... But I delivered on time.... And he loved the cake. That is what it is all about.
